The Engine Room restaurant and bar opened its doors in the heart of Derby last October and has quickly gained a strong reputation, particularly for the great service . Could you be the next team member to make a fantastic impression? We are now looking for friendly, professional and enthusiastic individuals to join our front of house team as Restaurant Staff, working on a casual basis to help at busy times. The Engine Room offers breakfast, lunch and dinner throughout the week and at weekends, with shifts available across all service periods.

The menu includes sharing plates, hand stretched pizzas, grilled meats and indulgent desserts, alongside a drinks list featuring cocktails, wines and local beers. Whether guests are stopping by for a morning coffee, a leisurely lunch, an evening meal or drinks at the bar, our aim is to create a warm, welcoming and memorable experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Welcome and seat guests with genuine warmth and professionalism
- Take orders and serve food and drinks efficiently
- Maintain clean, well presented tables and dining areas
- Offer knowledgeable menu and drinks recommendations
- Help ensure each guest enjoys a smooth, enjoyable visit
- Work closely with kitchen and bar teams to uphold high service standards
What We Are Looking For
- A friendly, positive and approachable attitude
- Strong communication skills and a team focused mindset
- Flexibility to work midweek and weekend shifts
- Previous hospitality experience is an advantage but not essential
- A real passion for food, drink and great guest service
