The Yachtsman Care Home are recruiting for an experienced Activities Co-Ordinator. Your role will be to provide a structured activities programme which will be implemented to our residents, promoting their individual skills, knowledge, and independence.
Your Experience
- You will have previous experience as an Activities Co-Ordinator preferably within a care home setting caring for older people.
- You will have a kind and caring approach with a passion for delivering the highest possible standard of service, care, and support for the residents.
- You will have excellent communication skills and have a desire to work in a participatory manner with residents, relatives, and colleagues to enable residents to achieve desired outcomes and goals.
- You will have the ability to work positively as a member of the staff team and the flexibility to work alone when required.
Main Duties
- You will be responsible for providing a planned week of activities and the plan will be given to the Manager each Monday.
- You will need to gather information from individuals and their families to accommodate their needs and preferences.
- You will need to record each individual’s participation on their daily log of activities after each session.
- You will research the local area to find groups, organisations, and other such interests that residents may express a need to participate in.
- You will be required to assist with some personal care across peak times, so care experience is required.
- You will liaise with families, professionals and other third parties/outside agencies to arrange entertainment/parties.
- You will submit risk assessments to the Manager for any planned outings outside the home.
- You will update your colleagues on the planned activities for the days you are not on shift and ensure they are aware of the structure/format and how to carry out the activity in your absence.
- You will assist the management team in implementing an Employee of the Month programme – in which residents will be able to vote.

Hours/Shifts
24-30 hours per week between 10am - 4pm. Days/times can be flexible for the right candidate.

Pay: From £12.71 per hour
