JDI Legal - North East legal recruitment specialists are currently working with a respected and established high street firm based on Tyneside who are looking to recruit an experienced Conveyancing Solicitor OR Licensed Conveyancer to ultimately take on the reins of their busy residential conveyancing dept.
My clients are a traditional high street firm with a strong repeat client base and are looking to make this key appointment for their profitable residential team. The work is mostly private and local work including a full range of transactions such as sales, purchases - freehold and leasehold, new build, right to buy etc.
There is the benefit of a case management system as well as secretarial support in place
The role would suit a solicitor with 3 years or more OR CLC who can ultimately deal with the CQS accreditation and have responsibility for the department.
The offices are based in the centre of a town which is easily accessible by many public transport links as well as lots of car parking.
The role is full time but 4 days would be considered.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the legal aspects of residential property transactions, ensuring a smooth process for clients from the initial offer through to completion. This role requires excellent communication skills, strong organisational abilities, and a thorough understanding of property law.
Duties
- Manage the conveyancing process for residential property transactions, including sales and purchases.
- Conduct thorough property searches and investigations to identify any potential issues.
- Prepare and review legal documents, including contracts, transfer deeds, and mortgage documentation.
- Liaise with clients, estate agents, mortgage lenders, and other parties involved in the transaction to ensure effective communication throughout the process.
- Provide clients with clear advice on legal matters related to their property transactions.
- Ensure all deadlines are met efficiently while managing multiple cases simultaneously.
Skills
- Strong organisational skills to manage a varied caseload effectively.
- Excellent time management abilities to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines consistently.
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, to convey complex information clearly to clients and stakeholders.
- Proficiency in IT systems and software relevant to conveyancing processes.
The hours are 9-5pm but some flexibility could be offered if needed.
