Café Barista / Kitchen Assistant
Full-time | Edinburgh | In-person
We’re looking for an experienced Barista / Café Assistant to join our independent café team in Edinburgh.
This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys working with customers, making good coffee and being part of a busy café environment.
What you'll be doing
- Preparing coffee and other hot and cold drinks
- Taking customer orders and processing payments
- Preparing sandwiches, salads and other simple food
- Providing friendly and efficient customer service
- Keeping the café, counter and seating areas clean and organised
- Checking stock and reporting shortages
- Following food hygiene and safety procedures
- Assisting the team with day-to-day café operations
- Answering customer questions, including dietary and allergen queries
What we're looking for
- Previous barista experience is essential
- Previous café or hospitality experience is preferred
- Confident using a till and handling payments
- Able to work efficiently during busy periods
- Friendly, reliable and well organised
- Good communication skills
- Comfortable working as part of a small team
- Available to work Saturday and Sunday
- Basic knowledge of food hygiene and allergen requirements
