Trade Recruit is proud to be recruiting on behalf of our prestigious client, MW Phillips Opticians & Hearing Care, a respected independent optical provider with an excellent reputation for delivering outstanding patient care across the Midlands.
Due to continued growth, we're looking for a GOC-registered Optometrist to join the team as a Resident Optometrist. This is a predominantly practice-based role, working across modern practices in Birmingham, Wolverhampton and Tamworth.
Unlike many high-volume practices, you'll benefit from 30-minute testing times, giving you the time to deliver exceptional, patient-focused eye care.
Alongside your practice-based role, you'll also have the opportunity to broaden your clinical experience through NHS domiciliary eye care, mobile healthcare clinics, corporate eye care clinics and enhanced clinical pathways.
What You'll Be Doing
- Conduct NHS and private eye examinations
- Diagnose and manage a wide range of ocular conditions
- Prescribe spectacles and contact lenses
- Deliver outstanding patient-centred clinical care
- Communicate clinical findings and management plans
- Use modern diagnostic equipment, including OCT
- Maintain accurate patient records using Optix
- Work alongside Dispensing Opticians, Optical Assistants and Practice Managers
- Support enhanced clinical services where accredited
- Participate in CPD, clinical governance and ongoing professional development
- Ensure compliance with GOC, NHS and company standards
What We're Looking For
Essential
- GOC-registered Optometrist
- Excellent clinical and communication skills
- Passion for delivering outstanding patient care
- High standards of professionalism and record keeping
- Ability to work across our Birmingham, Wolverhampton and Tamworth practices (rota planned in advance, with each working day based at one practice)
Desirable
- Experience using OCT
- Experience with CUES, cataract pathways or other enhanced services
- Interest in domiciliary eye care and community healthcare
- Commitment to continuous professional development
Salary & Benefits
