The role will support the Group Site Manager and wider project team during construction, fit-out, commissioning, practical completion and the transition into operations.
This is a hands-on site role for someone who is practical, reliable and confident working with subcontractors, while also being strong on site records, planning, programme lookaheads, health & safety administration and day-to-day follow-through.
The successful candidate will help keep the site safe, organised, well planned and properly documented. They will support the Group Site Manager with daily site coordination, closing shifts, absence and weekend cover where required, subcontractor management, progress tracking, snagging, handover and operational transition.
The role is initially a 12-month fixed term contract, with potential to extend and potential future opportunities across the wider Troubadour Theatres group as their project pipeline expands.
Key responsibilities
- Day-to-day site supervision and subcontractor coordination.

- Monitoring progress against programme and helping identify issues early.
- Supporting coordination between construction, fit-out, MEP, fire, smoke control and operations requirements.
- Collaborating with the Troubadour Construction Team, supporting project management, commercial and design functions.
- Helping track snags, defects, actions and handover requirements through to close-out.
- Supporting practical completion, commissioning, O&M information, training records and transition into operations.
- Using Google Workspace and Microsoft project systems to keep information organised and up to date.
Essential requirements
- Previous experience as an Assistant Site Manager, Site Supervisor, Works Supervisor or similar.

- Temporary Works Supervisor or Temporary Works awareness.
- Fire marshal training.
- Manual handling.
- Environmental awareness.
- Experience on theatre, live entertainment, fit-out, temporary / meanwhile use, MEP-heavy or fast-track construction projects.
- Experience supporting commissioning, practical completion, snagging, handover or operational mobilisation.
Candidates who do not hold all desirable training may still be considered where they meet the essential requirements and have the right site experience, planning ability, attitude and willingness to develop.
Training and development
The successful candidate must already hold the core qualifications required for the role, including SMSTS, First Aid and a recognised H&S qualification such as IOSH Managing Safely, NEBOSH or equivalent.
Greenwich Peninsula Theatre Limited will support reasonable renewal of expiring role-critical qualifications during employment. We are also open to providing additional non-essential project-related training, such as IPAF, forklift / telehandler, fire marshal or other relevant training, where it supports the needs of the project and the candidate’s development.
This role would suit someone who already has the core site management and H&S competence to step into the project quickly, but who is also looking to develop further through hands-on project experience, additional training and future opportunities across a growing theatre and live entertainment project pipeline.
Working hours
The base role is 40 paid hours per week over 5 days, including a paid 1 hour lunch break.
Current planning-restricted site operational hours are:
- Monday to Friday: 8:00am-6:00pm
- Saturday: 8:00am-1:00pm
The role will predominantly support closing shifts and weekend cover where required. As the project progresses, site hours and weekend working may increase. Additional hours must be approved in advance and will be pre-agreed to either be paid at the normal hourly equivalent or taken as TOIL, in accordance with the contract.
Local employment
As part of the project’s local employment commitments, applications from Royal Borough of Greenwich residents and local candidates are welcomed. The role will also be advertised through Greenwich Local Labour and Business, alongside wider recruitment routes. Recruitment will be open, fair and based on suitability for the role.
