We are currently recruiting for an Electrical Design Engineer to join our client, an innovative and globally recognised engineering organisation based in Cambridge. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced engineer to play a key role in the design and development of advanced products. The successful candidate will work within a collaborative engineering environment, contributing to new product development, system integration, and technical support while helping drive innovation within a forward-thinking and highly technical business.
Location: Cambridge, Cambridgeshire
Hours: Monday to Friday 08:00am – 4pm OR 09:00am – 5:30pm
Salary: Up to £55,000 Per Annum

Job Duties:
- Lead the electrical and electronic design of new equipment and systems
- Design, develop and maintain electrical and electronic circuitry
- Create and manage electrical design documentation and system build information
- Support the development of next-generation xenon flashlamp systems
- Work closely with manufacturing teams to support system integration and product development
- Liaise with external suppliers and subcontractors involved in electrical system builds
- Provide technical support for existing products in the field
- Assist with fault-finding and troubleshooting of electrical and electronic systems
- Support system commissioning activities including factory and site acceptance testing
- Ensure electrical designs meet required safety and compliance standards
- Support continuous improvement of electrical designs and engineering processes
- Provide technical guidance during electrical builds and product rollouts
What we are looking for:
- Degree (or equivalent qualification) in Electrical or Electronic Engineering
- Proven experience working within power electronics
- Strong experience in fault-finding and diagnostics of electrical/electronic circuits
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Strong problem-solving ability and attention to detail
