Originally opening in 1965, we have been producing fasteners for over 60 years. We have facilities to Hot Forge, Cold Form, Machine, and Heat Treat all at our site in East Kilbride.
Job Overview
We are seeking a Saw Setter/Machine Operator to join our manufacturing team. The successful candidate will be mainly responsible for setting and operating bandsaw machines used for cutting steel bars into billets. Please note: There may be the opportunity to also train in other areas of the business after being established in this role. The role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals who are interested in gaining hands on experience and to develop their skills and knowledge within the manufacturing and fastener industries.
3 month probationary period.
38 hour basic working week: Monday – Thursday 8am – 4.30pm, Friday 8am – 2.30pm.
Wages: above national minimum wage.
Start date: early August 2026
Duties
- Selecting the correct material to use for specific jobs.
- Using equipment such as hoists and pallet trucks to move material from area to area.
- Set up of bandsaws.
- Cleaning of components after cutting.
- Liaisoning with other team members.
- Ensuring steady flow of cut material is available for Press Operators.
- General housekeeping of machines and area.
- Eventual forklift training.
Requirements
- No relevant experience necessary as full training will be provided.
- Must be willing to gain experience in a hands-on role.
- Candidates should be comfortable with physically demanding and messy tasks.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team environment.
