About the Role
The Senior Security Operations Analyst is responsible for the continuous monitoring and analysis of data, alerts and reports to ensure timely and proactive escalation of potential events/items of interest. The role will include access control, application and development, risk management, operational security, incident response, business continuity, operational and physical security of systems, as well as ongoing user training and reporting requirements. Primary responsibilities include:
- Monitor, investigate, and triage security alerts, anomalies, indicators of compromise, and policy violations correlating network, cloud, endpoint, and log-based activity to identify attacks, unauthorised use, and suspicious activity

Participate in continuous threat hunting activities, leveraging threat intelligence, and proactive analysis to identify suspicious activity, emerging threats, and attack trends. Collaborate with stakeholders to investigate and remediate identified risks in a timely manner

Research emerging threats and vulnerabilities to aid in the identification of incidents

Work with Detection and Automation team to support development of detection alerts, security automation and recommendations for tuning of rules to reduce false positives

Support incident investigation, containment, eradication, and recovery activities while maintaining accurate documentation, and contributing to the continuous improvement of detection capabilities, playbooks, and operational processes

Respond to and support general information security inquiries, providing guidance and escalating issues as required

Provide Tier 1 triage of secure email gateway alerts and phishing incidents, escalating and remediating threats in accordance with established procedures

Provide Tier 2 operational support for web proxy and secure web gateway technologies, including troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and implementation of corrective actions to maintain service reliability and security

Provide guidance and support to Security Analysts, acting as an escalation point during investigations, and contribute to the development of operational procedures, knowledge articles, and investigation guides that promote knowledge sharing and consistent service delivery

Ensure timely and effective handover of ongoing investigations, incidents, and operational issues to maintain continuity of security operations

Monitor the health and effectiveness of relevant security platforms and escalate issues affecting visibility or detection capabilities

Contribute to the organization's vulnerability management program by reviewing vulnerability findings, assessing risk, coordinating remediation efforts with technology teams, and tracking issues through to resolution

Develop and report meaningful operational security metrics, incident summaries, and trend analyses to measure programme effectiveness, identify areas for improvement, and support informed decision-making

Deliver high-quality security services in accordance with established standards, processes, and service level agreements (SLAs), ensuring consistent operational effectiveness

Maintain a strong understanding of the organization's business objectives, operations, risk landscape, and risk appetite, applying this knowledge to security monitoring, investigations, and risk-based decision-making

Participate in periodic audits and security assessments where required in order to determine security violations and inefficiencies

Assist with the delivery of continuous Information Security awareness across the Maples Group

Assist in the implementation and operation of the security programmes and projects as required

Maintain technical security knowledge by attending training courses, educational workshops where required
EXPERIENCE
What You Bring
In addition to indisputably high ethical standards and autonomy, the ideal candidate possesses the following:

5+ years in Security Operations/SOC or Incident Response, including in a 24×7 or global environment

Proven experience across incident response, alert triage, threat hunting, data loss prevention, and operational risk analysis
-
Previous experience acting as incident lead or commander during high‑severity security events preferred
-
Ability to work on own initiative with minimal to no supervision and adapt to changing environments with ease
-
Proven ability to self-manage in high-pressure environments
-
Consistently producing high standards of work on schedule in a pressured environment and whilst dealing with competing priorities
-
Demonstrable experience with at least one major SIEM and EDR platform, additional hands‑on KQL/SPL, PowerShell/Python experience preferred
-
Demonstrable experience with Security Orchestration and Automation
-
Strong understanding of ITSM workflows, implementing operational processes, and service delivery
-
Practical experience coordinating vulnerability remediation with Infra/Cloud/App teams and tracking outcomes with data‑driven dashboards

Solid knowledge of network systems, security protocols, security software and enterprise security architectures

Knowledge of best practices in developing security procedures and infrastructure
-
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
-
Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate complex security issues in clear business terms

Certifications such as SC-200, AZ-500, GCIA/GCIH/GCDA or CISSP/CISM preferred
