J.G Hale Group Limited is a multi-award winning Company delivering major construction projects for Local Authorities, Housing Associations, and the private building market. We have an exciting opportunity for a Social Value Officer/Manager (depending on experience) to join our fast-paced development team, reporting to our Head of Development. You will be working closely with our Contracts Managers and Commercial teams, to prepare tender submissions for projects ranging from 2 to 30 million pounds, whilst delivering Community Engagement activities associated with our contractual commitments.
Social Value Duties:
- Managing Targeted Recruitment and Training and Social Value delivery for each development, from tender stage (proposals), through to delivery and handover; tailored around the Wellbeing of Future Generations Wales goals.
- Preparing Targeted Recruitment and Training plans in line with local demand.
- Creating an area profile for each scheme at tender stage, identifying local need.
- Mapping out Community focused Engagements which will provide both short and long-term tangible legacies for the communities in which we work.
- Marketing/branding; updating the companies’ website and Twitter pages, newsletters for the local community, press updates, and pictorials.
- Collation and preparation of Social Value data, in preparation of client led reports, such as: monthly project reports, Welsh Government Community Benefits Toolkit, and the Social Value Portal.
- Event Management: utilising a set budget to formulate scheme specific engagement strategies that were both inclusive and driven by the needs of the local community, including Multicultural Events, Intergenerational Events, Sporting Events, Meet the Buyer corporate events. Delivering age specific workshops at schools, colleges, and careers events, designed to engage the learner and pique their interest in the construction industry.
- Liaising with the wider Development team to assist with information for written content for tender submissions, case studies, and the company’s website.

We are offering an extremely competitive salary depending on experience and skills. The role is full time and permanent, working 39 hours per week, core hours 9.00am to 14.00pm with 33 days annual leave (pro rata and inclusive of bank holidays).
