Pay: Up to £80,000 DOE
Live vacancy for an experienced Commercial Manager – joining a leading Mechanical & Electrical contractor delivering major building services projects across the UK and Ireland.

The Role:
This isn't a role where you'll simply inherit a title and continue operating as a Senior QS.
You'll take a leading position within the business, overseeing the commercial performance of multiple M&E projects, managing and developing the QS team and working directly with senior leadership to maximise profitability and control commercial risk.
You'll still remain close enough to the projects to get involved when needed – particularly around contracts, negotiations, risk, disputes and complex commercial challenges.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Leading commercial management from pre-contract through to final account
- Managing, mentoring and developing a team of Quantity Surveyors
- Maximising project profitability and minimising commercial risk
- Reviewing and negotiating contract documentation
- Managing NEC, JCT and other contract forms
- Overseeing valuations, applications, variations and final accounts
- Reviewing cashflow, WIP, forecasts and project performance
- Presenting commercial and financial reports at Board level
- Leading negotiations with clients, consultants and subcontractors
- Managing commercial disputes and challenging client relationships
- Chairing monthly commercial reviews
- Working with operational teams to improve project margins
Positive Signs on your CV:
- Senior commercial leadership experience within an M&E contractor
- Strong Mechanical & Electrical construction experience
- Background progressing from Project Quantity Surveyor into senior management
- Experience managing and developing a team of QSs
- Strong knowledge of NEC & JCT contracts
- Full commercial lifecycle experience
- Strong contractual and commercial risk management knowledge
- Experience presenting forecasts, financials and commercial reports at Board level
- Strong negotiation and client-management ability
- Commercially sharp but still willing to be hands-on when required
