The Prevention Alliance is made up of the following five not for profit organisations who work together to deliver Stockport Support Hub and Your Support in Stockport: Age UK Stockport, Jigsaw Support, Nacro, Stockport Homes and Talk Listen Change (TLC).
The TPA are commissioned by Stockport Council to deliver Stockport Support Hub and Your Support.
Our Key Workers provide a single point of contact, and work with people to provide practical support such as finances, housing and access to other support offers to help improve their wellbeing.
We help people find their own solutions, achieve their goals and improve their wellbeing and independence.
We provide advice, guidance, and challenge to build resilience and ensure people have networks in place to self-manage and live independently for the future.
Make a Difference When It Matters Most
The Prevention Alliance is seeking a compassionate, proactive and highly organised Keyworker to join our team as part of the new Crisis & Resilience Fund (CRF) programme.
The Crisis & Resilience Fund is a national initiative designed to provide urgent support to people experiencing financial hardship, whilst helping individuals and families build longer-term financial resilience. As a trusted delivery partner for Stockport Council, we will provide crisis payments and tailored support to residents facing poverty, financial insecurity and other life challenges.
This is an exciting opportunity to work directly with Stockport residents, helping them access immediate financial assistance and practical support that can create lasting positive change.
About the Role
As a Keyworker, you will provide person-centred support to residents experiencing crisis, undertaking timely assessments, identifying needs and coordinating appropriate interventions.
You will manage a caseload of individuals and households, helping them access crisis payments and supporting them to improve their financial wellbeing through benefit checks, budgeting advice, digital inclusion, social tariff access, employment and skills support, and referrals to specialist services.
Working within a collaborative network of trusted partners across Stockport, you will adopt a "no wrong door" approach to ensure residents receive the right support at the right time.
Key Responsibilities
- Complete assessments and respond to referrals within 48 hours.
- Assess eligibility and make crisis payment decisions using professional judgement and programme guidance.
- Deliver tailored resilience support to individuals and families.
- Support residents to maximise income through benefit uptake and financial inclusion initiatives.
- Help people access affordable utilities, social tariffs and digital support.
- Provide practical support around budgeting, debt prevention and financial resilience.
- Signpost and refer clients to relevant statutory and voluntary sector services.
- Maintain accurate and timely records using the shared Case Management System.
- Complete identity verification and fraud prevention checks.
- Contribute to monitoring, reporting and evaluation requirements.
- Attend Trusted Partner Case Management Group meetings.
- Work collaboratively with partner organisations across Stockport.
- Collect case studies and feedback to demonstrate impact and improve services.
About You
We are looking for someone who:
Essential
- Has experience of supporting vulnerable adults, families or communities.
- Has knowledge and experience of welfare benefits including Attendance Allowance, Disability Living Allowance, Pension Credit and Personal Independence Payments.
- Has a strong understanding of poverty, financial hardship and the barriers people face when accessing support.
- Can undertake holistic assessments and develop person-centred support plans.
- Has experience managing a caseload and maintaining accurate records.
- Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Can build positive relationships with residents and partner organisations.
- Is confident using IT systems and case management databases.
- Can work independently whilst contributing effectively as part of a team.
- Is committed to equality, inclusion and safeguarding.
Desirable.
- Knowledge of local support services in Stockport.
- Experience of grant administration or financial assistance schemes.
- Understanding of data protection and information governance requirements.
- Experience of working within multi-agency partnerships.
Pay: £28,398.00-£34,266.00 per year
