Position Summary
This job is located in an active outdoor construction site. Schedule is Monday-Saturday. Be advised that you will be working under the elements, including taking photos of ditches etc. PPE will be provided.
The Site Documentation Assistant is responsible for taking clear, consistent photographs of construction work to support project documentation and quality control records.
The role is based on an active solar farm construction site located near St. Neots.
This is an entry-level, site-based role focused primarily on photographing designated areas, activities, materials, and completed work according to instructions.
No construction inspection, technical assessment, or quality approval is required.
Key Responsibilities
- Take clear, accurate photographs of designated construction areas and work activities.
- Follow a daily or scheduled photo checklist provided by the site team.
- Capture before, during, and after photos where required.
- Ensure photographs are properly framed, visible, and usable for project records.
- Organize, label, and upload photographs using the required filing system or mobile application.
- Record basic information associated with photographs
- Revisit areas when additional or replacement photographs are requested.
- Maintain awareness of site activity and avoid disrupting construction operations.
- Follow all site safety rules, procedures, and instructions.
Role Scope
This position is focused on documentation only. The Site Documentation Assistant is not responsible for:
- Inspecting construction work.
- Determining whether work meets technical standards.
- Approving or rejecting completed work.
- Providing engineering, architectural, or construction advice.
- Managing subcontractors or construction personnel.
- Qualifications
- Ability to use a smartphone, tablet, or basic digital camera.
- Ability to follow clear instructions and repeat standardized tasks consistently.
- Basic ability to organize and upload digital files.
- Reliable, punctual, and comfortable working independently.
- Ability to walk and stand for extended periods in an outdoors construction environment.
Reporting
Reports to the Site Supervisor, Project Coordinator, Quality Control team, or other designated project representative.
Compensation
Entry-level / minimum-wage position, subject to applicable local wage requirements.
Right to work in the United Kingdom - required
Pay: £30,000.00-£33,000.00 per year
