We are seeking a dedicated Warehouse Operative to join our warehouse team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for efficiently unloading goods from delivery vehicles and ensuring they are properly stored within the warehouse. This role requires physical stamina and a keen attention to detail, as well as the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Start times vary from 0500 - 1000 and weekends occasionally.
- Up to 10 hour shifts, £12.71phr.
Duties for warehouse operative.
- Unload materials and products from lorries and containers, ensuring accurate handling and storage.
- Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Conduct shipping and receiving tasks, including verifying quantities and inspecting for damage.
- Maintain an organised warehouse environment by properly storing items in designated locations.
- Perform heavy lifting as required, adhering to safety protocols at all times.
- Collaborate with team members to build efficient workflows and improve unloading processes.
- Picking/ Packing and scanning of products.
- Operating a computer to dispatch items in the warehouse
Qualifications desirable:
- Previous experience in shipping and receiving within a warehouse setting is preferred.
- Proficiency in operating forklifts and other material handling equipment is advantageous.
- Strong skills in materials handling, with the ability to perform heavy lifting (up to 25 kg).
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems is beneficial for effective inventory control.
- A solid understanding of safety practices related to warehouse operations.
- Excellent organisational skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
