An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Healthcare Support Worker to join our Urgent Treatment Centre (UTC) at Newton Abbot Hospital. This rewarding role offers the chance to provide high-quality urgent and emergency care to both adults and children in a fast-paced and supportive environment.

This is a fantastic opportunity to develop your skills across our Urgent Treatment Centres at Newton Abbot, Totnes and Dawlish Hospitals, gaining experience with a diverse patient group and a wide range of urgent care presentations.
You'll have the opportunity to develop and utilise a range of clinical competencies, including cannulation, venepuncture, wound care, basic wound closure, plaster application, ECG recording, and monitoring and interpreting vital signs for both adults and children. You'll also contribute to adult and paediatric assessments and play an important role in identifying and escalating safeguarding concerns appropriately.
Success in this role requires excellent teamwork and communication skills. You'll work closely with colleagues throughout each shift and liaise with the wider multidisciplinary team to ensure patients receive timely, effective, and coordinated care. You'll also have opportunities to contribute to service development, quality improvement initiatives, and projects that enhance patient experience and outcomes.
