We are the UCL Bartlett Faculty of the Built Environment. Individually, our departments lead their fields. In partnership, they develop new responses to pressing world issues. As a whole, they represent a world-leading, multidisciplinary faculty, united by the radical spirit of UCL. The Bartlett is unrivalled in its breadth and depth of disciplines, programmes and departments. It is made up 13 Schools, Institutes, Centres and Units, providing teaching and research in a wide range of subject areas to over 4,000 students each year from across the world. This role is part of the Bartlett Marketing and Communications team, delivering strategic communications and marketing for the Bartlett faculty and all departments.
The Digital Communications Officer will execute the Bartlett’s website content and communications strategy, raising awareness and reputation of the faculty and its departments as a leading hub of education, research, impact and engagement in the global built environment sector, and delivering key communications for internal and external audiences. They will: • Support the delivery of integrated digital communications content and campaigns for The Bartlett, building brand narrative and thought leadership with key global audiences. • Support the development, management and optimisation of website content and information architecture to enable seamless user journeys, drive traffic, and create engagement with key audiences. • Play a key role in implementing The Bartlett’s digital communications and channel plan and support the day-to-day management of communications requests and digital communications channels for the Bartlett faculty and academic departments, including website content, social media, event promotion and newsletters. •Work closely with academic leads and develop in-depth knowledge of the faculty and departments, delivering digital communications activities that strategically support them.
You will be a creative, organised communications professional with experience in developing, delivering, and analysing multi-channel digital communications for diverse audiences. You will have demonstrable experience in researching, writing, and designing content, with a particular focus on website and online platforms, ensuring content is engaging, accessible, and effective. You will be proficient in digital design tools, website content management systems, HTML email platforms, and social media channels and management tools, with the ability to publish, update, and optimise web content. You will also be confident in using analytics and dashboards to measure content performance and inform improvements, and able to translate insights into actionable recommendations.
