About the Role
We are looking to appoint a caring and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join a primary school in Manchester from September 2026. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working with children and is committed to supporting their educational journey.
The successful candidate will work closely with class teachers and support staff to help pupils thrive both academically and socially. The role will involve providing support within the classroom, working with small groups, and offering one-to-one assistance where required.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist teachers in delivering engaging learning activities across the primary curriculum
- Support pupils with their learning, encouraging confidence and independence
- Work with small groups or individual children to reinforce key skills and concepts
- Promote positive behaviour and help maintain a productive learning environment
- Provide additional support for pupils who require targeted interventions
- Contribute to the wellbeing, safety, and development of all children
- Help prepare classroom resources and learning materials when required
Person Specification
- Experience working with children in a school, childcare, youth work, or similar setting
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
- A genuine interest in supporting children's learning and development
- Teaching Assistant qualifications are beneficial but not essential
- A willingness to learn and contribute to school life
