As we continue to grow, we're looking for a skilled Engineering & Maintenance Technician to join our team and help keep our operations running smoothly.
The Role
We are seeking a proactive Engineering & Maintenance Technician to carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM), breakdown repairs, and continuous improvement work across our coating and converting machinery. You'll play a key role in minimising downtime, maintaining a safe working environment, and supporting production efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out routine planned preventative maintenance on production machinery and site equipment
- Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic/hydraulic faults quickly and safely
- Respond to breakdowns promptly to minimise production downtime
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and logs
- Support installation, commissioning, and modification of new and existing equipment
- Identify opportunities for process and equipment improvements
- Ensure all work is carried out in line with health & safety regulations and site procedures
- Manage and monitor spare parts inventory, ordering replacement stock as required
- Liaise with external contractors and suppliers when specialist support is needed
- Participate in an on-call/shift rota where applicable to support production needs
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- Recognised engineering qualification (NVQ/City & Guilds/apprenticeship or equivalent) in mechanical, electrical, or multi-skilled maintenance
- Proven experience in an industrial or manufacturing maintenance role
- Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills across mechanical and electrical systems
- Good understanding of health & safety practices in a production environment
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Flexible approach, with willingness to support occasional shift work
Desirable:
- Experience within coating, converting, printing, or similar process manufacturing environments
- Experience with pneumatic and hydraulic systems
- Forklift licence
