HR & Recruitment Manager
Lowy Group
The Role
Lowy Group is looking for an experienced and highly organised HR & Recruitment Manager to join our Group team, supporting two of our businesses: AES Experiential Learning & Living and Living Rooms.
This is a varied, hands-on role for someone who enjoys being close to the business and getting involved across the full employee lifecycle. Working directly for Lowy Group, you will partner with managers and employees across both businesses, providing practical HR support while taking ownership of recruitment, payroll coordination, HR administration and employee development.
AES operates within the international education sector, while Living Rooms operates a collection of luxury hotels and serviced residences across London, making this a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working across different environments and with a wide variety of people.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Manage recruitment across AES and Living Rooms, from advertising and sourcing through to interviews, offers and onboarding.
- Work closely with hiring managers to understand recruitment needs and help attract strong candidates across a range of operational and office-based roles.
- Support managers with day-to-day HR matters including employee relations, absence, performance, probation reviews and general HR queries.
- Coordinate and support the monthly payroll process, ensuring employee changes, holiday tracking, starters, leavers, absence and other payroll information is accurate and submitted on time.
- Maintain accurate employee records, HR systems and documentation across both businesses.
- Prepare contracts, offer letters, contractual changes and other employee correspondence.
- Manage the onboarding and offboarding process, ensuring employees have a professional and consistent experience.
- Support the development and delivery of learning and development initiatives, including identifying training requirements and coordinating internal and external training.
- Monitor mandatory and compliance training and ensure records remain up to date, ensuring all employees have correct training assigned to them.
- Support employee engagement and wider People initiatives across the Group.
- Monitoring and implementing operational efficiencies and managing any change of payroll or hr systems with Head of People.
- Support wider Lowy Group People projects and initiatives as required.
- Other ad-hoc responsibilities.
About You
We are looking for someone who is practical, organised and comfortable managing a busy and varied workload.
You will ideally have:
- Previous experience in a generalist HR role, ideally at HR Advisor, HR Manager or HR & Recruitment Manager level.
- Strong recruitment experience across a range of roles.
- Previous payroll experience and a good understanding of payroll processes.
- Excellent administration skills and strong attention to detail.
- Good foundation knowledge of UK employment law practices.
- Confidence supporting and advising managers on day-to-day people matters.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- The ability to prioritise and manage multiple requirements across two businesses.
- Experience coordinating or delivering learning and development would be highly desirable.
Experience within hospitality, education or another fast-paced operational environment would be an advantage.
Most importantly, you will be someone who enjoys being hands-on. This is a role for someone who is equally comfortable speaking with a manager about a people issue, interviewing a candidate, checking payroll information or making sure an employee's paperwork is correct.
