Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Dispensing Assistant to join our pharmacy team. The successful candidate will support the dispensing process, assist with medication administration, and contribute to delivering outstanding patient care. Responsibilities
- Assist pharmacists with the preparation and dispensing of prescriptions in accordance with legal and organisational guidelines
- Support medication administration processes, ensuring correct dosage and patient instructions are followed
- Maintain accurate records of dispensed medications and patient interactions
- Provide friendly and professional assistance to patients, answering queries related to their prescriptions and medication needs
- Ensure the pharmacy environment remains clean, organised, and compliant with health and safety regulations
- Support stock management by checking inventory levels, organising supplies, and reporting shortages or discrepancies
- Uphold confidentiality and data protection standards at all times during patient interactions and record keeping
Skills
- Grade C or above in GCSE English Language & Maths
- Previous pharmacy dispensary experience is highly desirable but not essential; training will be provided for suitable candidates
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail to ensure accuracy in dispensing medicines
- Excellent communication skills to effectively assist patients and collaborate with healthcare professionals (in-person and over the phone)
- Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
