Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Engineering Project & Technical Services Specialist to join our innovative team. Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate engineering projects from inception through completion, ensuring adherence to scope, schedule, and quality standards.
- Conduct root cause analysis to identify underlying issues in systems, processes, or equipment, then develop effective corrective actions.
- Create detailed schematics, system diagrams, and technical drawings using AutoCAD and SolidWorks to support design and manufacturing activities.
- Develop system designs utilizing systems engineering principles, integrating mechanical, electrical, and software components for optimal performance.
- Manage project documentation, including specifications, test plans, and progress reports, while maintaining clear communication with stakeholders.
- Utilize programming languages such as Python and C++ to develop automation scripts or control algorithms for system enhancements.
- Perform data analysis using MATLAB or similar tools to interpret test results, improve system functionality, and support laboratory experiments or field testing.
- Apply GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) standards to ensure precision in manufacturing and assembly processes.
- Collaborate with construction teams during installation phases by providing technical guidance based on construction experience and mechanical knowledge.
- Conduct laboratory testing and validation of prototypes or systems to verify performance against design specifications.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering or a related field; advanced degrees are a plus.
- Proven experience in project management within an engineering environment; certification such as PMP is advantageous.
- Strong proficiency with CAD software including AutoCAD and SolidWorks for schematics and system modeling.
- Hands-on experience with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), data analysis skills, and laboratory testing procedures.
- Knowledge of system design principles encompassing mechanical knowledge and construction experience.
- Familiarity with programming languages such as Python and C++, along with MATLAB for data analysis tasks.
- Ability to perform root cause analysis effectively using structured problem-solving techniques.
- Understanding of GD&T standards to ensure manufacturing precision; experience with CAD-based tolerancing is preferred.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to document technical information clearly for diverse audiences.
- Strong analytical skills combined with a proactive approach to troubleshooting complex systems.
