Join our team as a Part Time, Term Time PSV Coach Driver and become a vital part of delivering safe, reliable, and friendly school transport. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work during school terms, providing essential travel solutions for students. You'll be behind the wheel of a professional passenger vehicle, ensuring punctuality, safety, and excellent customer service every day. We may also have the opportunity for additional work outside of the school transport including day trips, airports and private hires. You will always be consulted before we allocate any additional work.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate passenger vehicles such as coaches or minibuses to transport students on scheduled routes during term time
- Conduct pre-journey safety checks on vehicles to ensure mechanical reliability and compliance with safety standards
- Communicate clearly with passengers, school staff, and colleagues to provide excellent customer service and address any queries or concerns
- Follow all traffic laws and company policies to maintain a safe driving environment at all times
- Assist passengers with boarding and alighting, ensuring accessibility needs are met with sensitivity and professionalism
- Maintain accurate records of journeys, mileage logs, and vehicle inspections in accordance with company procedures
- Report any vehicle issues or incidents promptly to ensure swift resolution and ongoing safety
Requirements
- Valid Passenger Service Vehicle (PSV) driver’s license (Category D) suitable for operating commercial passenger vehicles
- Up to date PSV CPC qualification
- Enhanced DBS check
- Proven experience in driving commercial vehicles or delivery roles, preferably with school transport or passenger services
- Strong mechanical knowledge to perform basic vehicle maintenance checks and identify potential issues early
- Excellent communication skills in English to interact effectively with passengers, colleagues, and supervisors
- Knowledge of local traffic laws and safety regulations related to passenger transport
- Ability to work independently with a mobile tracking / ticketing system on scheduled routes while maintaining high safety standards
