Job Purpose
Our Registered Care Home Manager (CQC Registered) will be an inspired leader, understanding and contributing to the Eleanor strategy, and implementing it at a local level. You’ll be the role model for all of Eleanor’s values, and you’ll inspire your team to embody them too. You’ll be responsible for the success of your home, which spans financial results, resident satisfaction, team engagement and external regulatory outcomes. You’ll also drive the development and growth of your team members.
You’ll use your specialist knowledge to ensure the delivery of all our care services to the highest standard. You’ll oversee the home’s finances, including managing the sales team and ensuring they deliver on revenue targets, as well as budget planning and cost control.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure the home meets all regulatory and statutory requirements including registration as the CQC registered manager for the home.
- Ensure the regulations for Fire, H&S, COSHH, Learning & Development, employment are compliant with the appropriate Acts. Also, ensuring associated risk assessments are undertaken and recorded.
- Ensure that all Eleanor’s policies, regulatory requirements and agreed quality assurance initiatives are implemented within the care home to ensure the highest standard of care.
- Management and accountability of the occupancy and key financial KPIs of the home.
- To identify concerns through robust quality assurance (e.g.: audits) internally and externally, generating and implementing agreed actions to address concern and adding action plans.
- To develop and deliver agreed actions within approved timescales as detailed on the action plan and ensure it is shared with relevant parties.
- Be responsible for ensuring that clinical governance meetings are held, and analysis of data is completed and acted upon.
- Ensure that all residents receive the highest standard of care at all times in accordance with company procedures, best practice and the philosophy of care.
- Ensure that complaints/concerns are thoroughly investigated and resolved in accordance with Eleanor Care policy.
- Ensure potential residents are appropriately assessed within 24 hours if operationally appropriate, to establish suitability for admission, recording the outcome.
- Comply with the accident/incident reporting policy to maintain the safety of staff and patients in the home, following the Duty of Candour requirements.
- Manage the recruitment, performance and development of staff to ensure that skilled staff are available to meet the needs of the service, ensuring compliance to all HR and L&D policy requirements· Manage staff rotas and on-call duties (paid extra on top of the basic salary)
- Need to possess a full understanding and working knowledge of all Eleanor Care policies and procedures and ensure all these policies are applied at all times
- Promote and ensure Eleanor’s mission and values of Trust, Respect, Empowerment, Innovation and Fulfilment to support a culture that fosters engagement.
- Management of any poor performance and persistent sickness absence in accordance with good HR practice and investigating disciplinary processes where appropriate.
- Ensure all staff comply to administration of medications policy, to ensure that processes are followed to ensure the safe ordering, custody, storing, disposal, recording and administration of all medications
- Involvement with local community engagement while contributing to the development, implementation, evaluation of strategies and plans to enable the care home to achieve its business objectives.
- Contribute, as appropriate, to special projects and change programmes in support of the Group’s objectives.
- The list of duties is not exhaustive but outlines the main regular parts of the role. Other reasonable duties may be requested by the home manager or senior members of staff.
