Volunteer Yoga Teacher – Community Wellbeing Sessions
Organisation: Blossom Group (www.blossom-group.net)
About Blossom Group
Blossom Group is a community-led organisation dedicated to improving the health, wellbeing and confidence of local people. We create welcoming, inclusive spaces where everyone – regardless of ability, background or age – can come together, feel supported and grow. Our sessions are free at the point of use and made possible by a wonderful team of volunteers who share their skills to give back to the community.
The Role
We are looking for a warm, reliable and qualified Yoga Teacher to lead our weekly community yoga sessions on a voluntary basis. This is a rewarding opportunity to share your practice, support people who often face barriers to exercise, and become a valued part of our community team.
Sessions are open to a mixed group of able-bodied and disabled participants, and we also run women-only sessions as part of the weekly programme. Your role will be to plan and deliver inclusive, adaptable classes that make everyone feel welcome and confident.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver a 2-hour yoga session every Wednesday (10am–12pm), suitable for a mixed-ability group including participants with disabilities and limited mobility.
- Offer chair-based, standing and mat-based variations so every participant can take part safely.
- Create a calm, respectful and culturally sensitive atmosphere, particularly for women-only sessions.
- Arrive on time, set up the space and pack down at the end of each session.
- Build friendly, encouraging relationships with regular attendees.
- Follow Blossom Group's safeguarding, health & safety and equal opportunities policies.
- Report any concerns, incidents or feedback to the Project Coordinator.
Who We're Looking For

- Warm, patient and approachable manner.
- Understanding of safeguarding principles and a commitment to inclusion.
- Right to volunteer in the UK.
Desirable
- Training or experience in Indian / traditional yoga styles (e.g. Hatha, Iyengar, Sivananda, Ashtanga).
- Ability to speak Hindi, Urdu and/or Punjabi – highly valued, as this helps us connect with members of our community whose first language is not English.
- Experience teaching adapted, chair or accessible yoga for disabled participants.

- First aid trained (not essential – training can be arranged).
