Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and skilled Service Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe operation of a vacuum truck to empty, clean, and transport portable chemical toilets at various sites. This role requires a strong understanding of commercial driving practices, excellent communication skills, and the ability to handle various types of vehicles. Full Training provided.
Responsibilities
- Operate vehicles in a safe and responsible manner while adhering to all road safety regulations.
- Operate a vacuum pump for emptying and cleaning portable toilets.
- Perform scheduled servicing of chemical toilets, including refilling with water and chemical solutions.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition.
- Maintain accurate records of servicing
- Communicate effectively with staff at head office and customers regarding servicing and any potential issues.
- Assist in loading and unloading goods from the vehicle, ensuring proper handling to prevent damage.
- Utilise mechanical knowledge to perform basic maintenance on the vehicle as needed.
- Collaborate with team members to optimise servicing routes and improve efficiency.
Qualifications
- Valid driving licence up to 3.5t
- Previous experience as a delivery driver is highly desirable;
- Proven ability to communicate effectively with team members and clients.
- Good Geographical Knowledge would be an advantage.
- Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail for record keeping.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Occasional overtime required to meet industry demands.
