Buchanan's Coaches have been providing high quality passenger transport to the residents of Hereford and surrounding areas since 1971. Due to new contracts, we have a vacancy for a new driver to join our small team in starting late August - early September.
The Job
We are looking for a driver who is happy doing a variety of coaching work. This will include school runs, school trips, rail replacement work and private hires to destinations across the UK. There may also be the opportunity to do day trips and tours (UK and European) for the right candidate. As with any coach driving role, you will be required to work early mornings, weekends, and the occasional late night or night out. We like to think we provide a pleasant and supportive environment to work in and are committed to the ongoing professional development of our staff.
Your Responsibilities
- Checking and recording safety checks against company vehicles
- Driving our customers safely where they need to go
- Strict adherence to EU tachograph rules and the working time directive
- Vehicle presentation; cleaning inside and washing outside company vehicles daily.
- Ability to plan your routes safely and efficiently
Required
- Category D PSV license (Automatic holders welcome to apply)
- Current Drivers CPC entitlement with valid DQC card
- Valid digital tachograph card (or the willingness to obtain one prior to a job offer)
- Current Herefordshire DBS certificate (or the willingness to obtain one prior to a job offer)
- Great communication skills and an approachable manor
- Comfortable with technology (smartphones, apps and emails)
- At Least two years of Coach or Bus driving experience
- Adaptable to change
- Smart appearance
