Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Truck Driver to join our logistics team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to safety and efficiency while delivering goods to various locations. This role requires proficiency in commercial driving, with a focus on General Haulage deliveries. As a Truck Driver, you will play a crucial role in ensuring timely and accurate delivery of products, contributing to our overall operational success.
Responsibilities
- Operate lorries in compliance with all traffic laws and regulations.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and functionality.
- Load and unload goods securely, ensuring proper handling of all items.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs and documentation for each trip.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and warehouse staff regarding delivery schedules and any issues encountered.
- Adhere to company policies regarding safety, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Ensure that the cargo is secured properly to prevent damage during transit.
Experience
- Proven experience as a Delivery Driver or in a similar role within the logistics industry.
- Valid commercial driving licence (C+E) with an excellent driving record.
- Familiarity with flatbed lorry operations is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of road safety regulations and best practices.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines.
