Branksome Park Care Centre is a well-established and reputable care home located in the heart of Poole, dedicated to providing high-quality, person-cantered nero and nursing care for our residents. We believe in enhancing the quality of life for our residents through engaging and enriching activities. We are currently seeking a passionate and experienced Lead Activities Coordinator to join our dynamic team and help create meaningful experiences for our residents.
As the Lead Activities Coordinator, you will play a crucial role in improving the well-being of our residents by planning, organizing, and implementing a wide range of activities and events tailored to their interests and needs. You will lead a team of activities assistants and work collaboratively with other departments to create a vibrant and fulfilling living environment for our residents.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Develop and implement a diverse activities program that promotes physical, mental, and emotional well-being for residents.
- Conduct assessments to identify residents' interests, preferences, and needs, and incorporate these into the activities schedule.
- Lead a team of activities assistants, providing guidance, support, and training as needed.
- Collaborate with the Management team, healthcare professionals and care staff to ensure activities are adapted to the individual needs of residents.
- Organise and oversee special events, outings, and holiday celebrations.
- Maintain records and documentation related to activities, attendance, and resident progress.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of activities, making adjustments to enhance the overall program.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and guidelines.
**Qualifications:**
- Previous experience in a similar role within a care home setting.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
- Creative and innovative approach to activity planning.
- Excellent communication and organisational abilities.
- Understanding of the physical and emotional needs of older adults.
- Knowledge of relevant health and safety regulations.
- A compassionate and patient demeanor.
