East Anglian Site Engineering is seeking an experienced Drainage Engineer to support the delivery of major drainage works on the nationally significant Sizewell C project in Suffolk.

We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented engineer with experience in drainage, earthworks or civil engineering projects who can ensure works are delivered safely, efficiently and to the highest quality standards.
The Role
Working closely with Construction Managers, Site Engineers, Surveyors, QA teams and subcontractors, you will play a key role in the planning, installation, inspection and quality assurance of drainage works across site.
You will be responsible for ensuring all drainage infrastructure is constructed in accordance with project specifications, design requirements, environmental standards and programme objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out engineering and setting out duties for drainage works.
- Ensure drainage installations are delivered in accordance with approved drawings, specifications and project requirements.
- Interpret technical drawings, construction details and engineering documentation.
- Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress, workmanship and compliance.
- Verify line, level and gradient requirements for drainage systems.
- Identify engineering issues and work proactively with site teams to develop solutions.
- Liaise with contractors, surveyors, project managers and construction teams to coordinate works and maintain programme objectives.
- Monitor drainage construction activities to ensure compliance with design and environmental requirements.
- Ensure all quality assurance records, inspections and testing documentation are completed accurately and on time.
- Maintain up-to-date QA documentation and support project auditing requirements.
- Prepare and manage as-built records and site reports.
- Support planning activities and provide technical input where required.
- Promote and maintain high standards of health, safety, environmental and quality compliance.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Drainage Engineer, Site Engineer or Civil Engineer on drainage, earthworks or major infrastructure projects.
- Strong understanding of drainage construction methods, specifications and installation practices.
- Experience with setting out using GPS and total station equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications and construction documents.
- Strong knowledge of QA procedures, inspection records and as-built documentation.
- Experience conducting site inspections and identifying potential construction or quality issues.
- Excellent communication and coordination skills.
- Strong problem-solving ability and attention to detail.
- Valid CSCS Card.
- Full UK Driving Licence preferred.
- Safety Critical medical will be required
