ISS is a leading service provider in the UK Fresh Produce sector. Since 2014, we have grown to operate four sites across Kent, employing over 1,300 colleagues. We are now looking for an experienced Health & Safety Advisor to join our team, supporting our new site in Bridge, Canterbury, while also working across our wider Kent operations.

About the Role
Location: Multi-site (based at Bridge, Canterbury)
As a Health & Safety Advisor, you will provide practical, professional health and safety support to managers and teams across the business. Working closely with the Health & Safety Manager, you will lead risk assessment activities, support audits and investigations, drive safety initiatives and ensure compliance with UK legislation and company standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert health & safety advice and guidance to managers and operational teams.
- Lead and review risk assessments, ensuring effective control measures are implemented and maintained.
- Support the implementation and continuous improvement of the company Safety Management System.
- Conduct regular site inspections, safety walks and workplace audits.
- Support internal and external audits and ensure compliance requirements are met.
- Investigate incidents, near misses and accidents, identifying root causes and monitoring corrective actions.
- Deliver health & safety training, toolbox talks and awareness initiatives.
- Manage contractor safety processes, including reviewing RAMS and permit systems.
- Maintain statutory compliance records and ensure inspections, examinations and testing are completed on schedule.
- Analyse health & safety data and provide reports to support decision-making and continuous improvement.
- Work closely with site teams and Health & Safety Coordinators to promote a positive safety culture.

What You'll Bring
- NEBOSH General Certificate (essential).
- Minimum 2 years' experience in a Health & Safety role.
- Experience within food production, manufacturing or FMCG environments would be advantageous.
- Strong knowledge of UK health & safety legislation and best practice.
- Experience conducting risk assessments and incident investigations.
- Ability to influence, coach and engage colleagues at all levels.
- Excellent communication, organisational and problem-solving skills.
- High attention to detail and a proactive approach.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
- Willingness to travel between ISS sites and work flexibly when required.
