As part of this expansion, we are looking for a customer account manager to develop close working relationships with customers, suppliers and colleagues to co-ordinate and improve all aspects of customer service.
Whilst the business is 26 years old, it was recently acquired. This is a rare opportunity to work from a formative stage of the group organisation, with a talented, committed and experienced team to achieve an ambitious growth mandate. Within our growing company, all key roles offer multi-faceted general management experience backed by the parent group.
Purpose and Outline of the Role
In this role, you’ll be the go-to person for customers needing assistance with printed literature of all kinds. From brochures to exhibition graphics, you’ll help guide clients through the process, ensuring they get the best results. Your ability to stay organised and provide excellent customer service will be key to your success.
Continuous improvement is an essential part of the role. Having recently strengthened the leadership team, we are building the business infrastructure to achieve excellent performance in all aspects. This is not only within each business unit, but also across the group. In support of our ongoing growth and development, part of this role is dedicated to business performance; reporting, analysis and proposing improvements to customer service, sales, pricing and process efficiency.
Scope and Engagement
The role covers customer enquiries, sales order processing, pricing, supply chain management, spend analysis and monitoring, relationship management, account planning, reporting, continuous improvement. The role is highly collaborative, working with a wide range of external and internal stakeholders to ensure excellent service and performance.
PremCom maintains a flexible approach to defining the terms of engagement with the company. As appropriate to the role’s seniority, remuneration will consist of individual and company performance related pay. For progression into a group role, there is potential for a long-term incentive plan.
Skills
- Handling customer enquiries with professionalism and excellent service
- Advising on print options, materials and processes

- Co-ordinating orders and ensuring deadlines are met
- Keeping records organised and ensuring smooth workflow
- Using systems to process orders and track jobs
- Developing information tools, such as the supply chain management system
- Reporting and analysis of key business information, for external as well as internal use
- Developing knowledge of clients’ businesses, to their become preferred, strategic supplier
- Contributing to account plans
- Supporting performance management, proposing improvements and applying improvement methodologies
Skills, Experience and Attributes
We value attributes and potential over experience. On-the-job training and support from a diverse and highly experienced team will be available. We will invest in external training based on the successful candidate’s needs.
- Print knowledge – highly desirable, but not essential, knowledge of print processes, materials and finishes.
- An understanding of end-to-end commercial and operational processes, from enquiry and sale through production, fulfilment and invoice.
- A drive for continuous improvement
- Commercial awareness, including profitability analysis, estimating and pricing
- Customer service skills – a natural problem solver who enjoys helping people
