Trainee Law Costs Draftsman
One of the country's largest firm of costs lawyers and law costs draftsmen is looking to recruit a trainee law costs draftsman to work from the Bristol city centre branch, in addition to our Manchester, Ilkley and Birmingham branches. Full training will be provided, so existing knowledge of the profession is not required.
We provide legal costing, negotiation, advocacy and advisory services to Solicitors.
On a day to day basis a costs draftsman will be required to draft bills of costs and various other legal documents. They will be required to advise solicitors on aspects of costs and may also be required to engage in negotiations regarding solicitor’s costs. The candidate will be expected to handle a small case load and therefore good organisational skills are essential.

The basic starting salary is £24,500 per annum, whilst being trained with the addition of an uncapped monthly bonus scheme, which generously remunerates hard work and provides the potential for high earnings. Once trained you can expect to earn in excess of £30,150 per annum, plus bonuses and a profit share bonus.

What we require from a trainee:
Educated to at least Level 3 (A Levels or equivalent or higher).
Candidates are expected to have a high level of numeracy and literacy.
Candidates must possess the ability to summarise and quantify voluminous information and to write concise English. You should be confident dealing with figures.
A methodical approach to working and an enquiring mind is essential. You should be confident, assertive and articulate as the role will require communicating with other legal professionals.
You must be a productive individual and able to manage your time efficiently.
You must be ambitious and hardworking and be able to work to targets and under pressure when required.
We provide complete training in order for you to undertake your daily tasks.
Trainees are required to work from our office. Hybrid working may be available to candidates upon completion of training.
Recruitment procedure
