Parkside Medical Centre is looking to expand its busy yet friendly reception team.
We are seeking an enthusiastic, caring, and flexible receptionist with excellent customer service skills and strong IT knowledge. Previous medical reception experience is essential.
This role is for 30 hours per week to work but with the flexibility to cover annual leave and sickness when required.

Tues 12.00-18.00
Weds 12.00-18.00
Thurs 08.00-17.30
Fri 08.00-17.30

Main Duties
- Offer general assistance to the practice team and project a positive, friendly image to patients and visitors, both in person and via telephone
- Receive, assist, and direct patients to the appropriate service or healthcare professional in a courteous, efficient, and effective manner
- Undertake a variety of administrative duties to support the smooth running of the practice, including photocopying, managing tasks within the clinical system, and providing clerical support to clinical staff
- Facilitate effective communication between patients, members of the primary healthcare team, secondary care, and other associated healthcare agencies
- Process face-to-face and telephone requests for appointments, visits, and telephone consultations, ensuring callers are directed to the appropriate healthcare professional using a local care navigation template
Job Responsibilities / Summary
The post holder will be responsible for undertaking a wide range of reception duties and providing general support to the multidisciplinary team. This includes greeting and directing patients, effective use of the appointment system, booking appointments, processing information, and assisting patients as required.
The role acts as a central point of contact for patients, handling the distribution of information, messages, and enquiries for the clinical team, and liaising with multidisciplinary team members and external agencies such as secondary care and community service providers

The team consists of GP Partners, Salaried GPs, Advanced Nurse Practitioners, Nurses, Healthcare Support Workers, and a large administrative support team. We are a forward-thinking, innovative training practice using the SystmOne clinical system.
