The Group Chief Medical Officer is a full Executive (voting) Director of the Lincolnshire Community Health Services Trust & United Lincolnshire Hospitals Trust (the Group) and member of the unitary Group Board, and is expected to work as part of an integrated team and take lead responsibility for strategic and corporate issues both within and external to their immediate portfolio, making a major contribution to the achievements of the Groups vision and strategic goals.
The Group Chief Medical Officer will provide strong and effective clinical leadership across the Group and advise the Group Board on all aspects of professional practice relating to registered medical staff. Group lead on the development of clinical strategy, its underpinning medical & dental workforce strategy and for developing the research base in collaboration with education & commerce partners.
The Group Chief Medical Officer will also be the Executive clinical lead for the primary, secondary care interface across the Group providing leadership and managerial oversight of the Director for frailty & Long-Term Conditions
Provide high level and visionary leadership to the Trust Medical & Dental workforce and set and ensure the maintenance of high professional standards for the Group’s medical and dental workforce.
Ensure on-going improvement in the medical workforce engagement and national staff survey recommendation of the Group as both a place to work and receive care.
Empower the medical workforce to develop knowledge, skills and competencies relevant to their roles and strengthen capabilities of leadership, management and staff ensuring effective succession planning is in place.
Ensure the Group meets its obligations to NHS England at regional and national level, the Royal Colleges and NHS guidance, regulations and recommendations, for the training of its junior and undergraduate doctors; ensure the Group has an excellent reputation for high quality junior doctor and undergraduate training
Take the lead medical role in developing and implementing the clinical strategy ensuring the provision of an appropriate and effective range of services and that planned changes or developments are clinically sound
Develop clinical leadership and high levels of engagement in delivering high quality outcomes, high levels of patient and staff satisfaction and clinical productivity.
