We are seeking a talented and motivated Commis / CDP to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in food preparation and cooking, with a passion for delivering high-quality dishes in a fast-paced environment. The successful applicant will be responsible for assisting in the preparation of meals, maintaining food safety standards, and supporting the kitchen team to ensure smooth service. Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation and cooking of dishes according to established recipes and standards
- Ensure all food is prepared safely and in compliance with food safety regulations
- Support the kitchen team with meal assembly, garnishing, and presentation
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of workstations and kitchen equipment
- Follow health and safety procedures diligently to uphold hygiene standards
- Contribute to inventory management by assisting with stock checks and storage organisation
- Collaborate effectively with colleagues to ensure timely service during busy periods
- Support the team during service, including serving dishes when required
Experience
- Previous experience in a professional kitchen or restaurant environment is desirable but not essential; training will be provided for suitable candidates
- Knowledge of food preparation techniques, cooking methods, and meal assembly
- Familiarity with food safety standards and hygiene practices within a culinary setting
- Experience in serving or front-of-house roles is advantageous but not mandatory
- A genuine passion for culinary arts and eagerness to learn and develop skills within a dynamic team environment
