WE ARE CURRENTLY RECRUITING FOR A HEAD MECHANIC/WORKSHOP MANAGER
HOURS: Full Time - 40 Hours Per Week
Pay: Dependant of experience
Job Role: We are looking for an experienced mechanic to manage our workshop. The Workshop Manager will play a key role in ensuring our fleet operates smoothly and contributes to the overall success of the organisation.
Responsibilities:
- Overseeing the daily operations of the workshop.
- Carry out repairs and maintenance of our fleet including HGVs, Valtra Forestry Tractors, whole tree chippers, Excavators, Timberwolf Chippers, Specialist arboricultural vehicles, MEWPs and specialist recycling equipment.
- Keeping comprehensive service/repair records
- Work as a team with the workshop assistant to ensure repairs and maintenance are carried out efficiently.
- Pro-actively handle maintenance to minimise downtime Work closely with the Fleet Manager to plan maintenance and repairs
- Maintain inventory of parts, workshop supplies and equipment
- Ensuring the workshop operates in line with our safe systems of work, and all legislative and H&S processes are followed.
- Out of hours and weekend work is required on occasions.
Must Demonstrate the Following Competencies:
- You are an excellent multi – tasker and thrive in a fast paced environment
- Be an experience mechanic, with knowledge of vehicle, machinery, and equipment maintenance
- Technical/professional qualifications are advantageous.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Effective communication and leadership abilities
- Commercial acumen and the ability to identify and implement improvement opportunities.
