Residential Conveyancing Solicitor — 2–4 PQE (South Manchester)
Salary: £40,000–£45,000 + performance-based bonus
Location: South Manchester — Hybrid, typically 3 days office / 2 days home once established
Summary:
Residential Conveyancing Solicitor, South Manchester. £40,000–£45,000 plus bonus, hybrid working, dedicated support, varied caseload and genuine opportunities to progress.
If you’re an experienced conveyancing solicitor, you probably don’t need another role offering you exactly the same caseload with a different name above the door.
This South Manchester opportunity offers something more useful: ownership of varied residential property work, dedicated support around you, hybrid working once established and genuine scope to develop your career, with a £40,000–£45,000 salary and performance-based bonus.
What’s different about this role
You’ll have your own caseload, but you won’t be expected to do everything yourself.
You’ll work as part of an established residential property team with dedicated support available, giving you more scope to concentrate on progressing transactions and looking after clients.
Traditional low volume caseload
Alongside traditional sales and purchases, you’ll handle remortgages, transfers of equity, leases and other residential property matters, with exposure to some new-build work and specialist support where required all in a relaxed and supported environment.
There’s somewhere for your career to go.
Internal development and progression are actively supported, so this can be a longer-term career move rather than simply another conveyancing position.
And flexibility is part of the package.
Once you’re familiar with the team and systems, the usual working pattern is 3 days in the office and 2 days working from home.
What's in it for you?
- £40,000–£45,000 salary, depending on experience.
- Performance-based bonus scheme.
- Hybrid working, typically 3 days office / 2 days home once established.
- 22 days’ annual leave.
- Christmas shutdown.
- Your birthday off.
- Health cash plan.
- Parking
The Work
You’ll take responsibility for your own residential conveyancing caseload from instruction through to completion, covering matters including:
- Freehold and leasehold sales and purchases.
- Remortgages and transfers of equity.
- Lease and other residential property matters.
- Some new-build transactions, with specialist support available.
- Regular communication with clients and other parties to keep transactions moving.
The important distinction is that you’ll have responsibility for your files while still having an experienced team and dedicated support around you.
What We’re Looking For
You’ll probably already be comfortable running your own residential conveyancing files and now want a role that gives you the right combination of autonomy, support and room to progress.
Ideally, you’ll bring:
- Around 2–4 years’ PQE as a Solicitor, Licensed Conveyancer or Legal Executive
- Solid residential conveyancing experience.
- Confidence managing a varied caseload independently.
- Strong organisation and client communication skills.
- A collaborative approach and commitment to delivering a high standard of client service.
The Culture
This should suit someone who enjoys having ownership of their work but doesn’t want to operate in isolation.
You’ll be surrounded by experienced property professionals and dedicated support, with flexibility once you’re established and the opportunity to develop your career internally.
In other words, you can keep the autonomy you’ve built as an experienced conveyancer while gaining more support, flexibility and scope for your next step.
