Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Commis Chef / Chef de Partie to join our dynamic culinary team. This role offers an exciting opportunity for individuals passionate about food preparation and cooking, eager to develop their skills within a professional kitchen environment. The successful candidate will contribute to delivering high-quality dishes while maintaining excellent food safety standards. Prior kitchen experience and a strong interest in culinary arts are essential for this position.
Duties
- Assist in the preparation and cooking of a variety of dishes according to established recipes and standards
- Prepare ingredients and components for menu items, ensuring freshness and quality
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of workstations in compliance with food safety regulations
- Support the team during service hours, ensuring timely delivery of meals to guests
- Follow all health and safety procedures diligently, including proper handling of food and equipment
- Contribute to menu development by suggesting new ideas and improvements
- Ensure all food is stored correctly, labelled, and rotated to minimise waste
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth operation during busy periods
Qualifications
- Proven experience in a professional kitchen environment, ideally within a restaurant setting
- Strong knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and meal presentation
- Familiarity with food safety standards and hygiene practices
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail
- Good organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively
- Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
- Previous experience serving or interacting with guests is advantageous but not essential
