Leaf Recruitment is currently recruiting for a Labourer / Van Driver to join our client's team, preparing bins for food waste collection and delivering ready-prepared bins.
This is a hands-on role involving both manual labour and driving duties. The successful candidate will prepare and organise bins and then drive a company van to deliver ready-prepared bins. A Driver’s Mate will accompany the driver during deliveries.
The Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and pre-packing bins ready for food waste collection, carrying out general labouring duties and driving a van to deliver prepared bins.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparing bins ready for food waste collection
- Pre-packing bins for food waste
- Carrying out general labouring and manual handling duties
- Moving and organising bins within the site
- Loading and unloading bins
- Driving a company van to deliver ready-prepared bins
- Working alongside a Driver’s Mate during deliveries
- Keeping the working area clean and tidy
- Following health and safety procedures
- Working effectively as part of a team
Working Hours
- Monday – Friday
- 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Requirements
- Full UK driving licence is mandatory
- Maximum of 6 penalty points
- No IN10, DD, DR, CD40, LC20, DD80, AC10, AC20 or AC30 endorsements
- Previous labouring experience is desirable but not essential
- Physically fit and able to carry out manual work
- Comfortable with driving and manual labour
- Reliable and punctual
- Good attitude towards work
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Willingness to work in a waste-related environment
- Good customer service and communication skills
