Upwards Residential Care Services operates small residential children's homes throughout the UK. These homes accommodate and provide care for children with emotional and behavioural difficulties. We pride ourselves on providing a supportive and empowering environment for our Children to prepare them for their adult life. We are a very supportive and friendly organisation which is growing quickly, and this is an exciting opportunity for the right candidate to join our company.
We are looking for a qualified, passionate, and experienced Registered Manager who can demonstrate they can provide the highest quality care in our Ofsted home for children and young people; as well as inspiring, developing and building a skilled staff team through their excellent leadership and management qualities.
Responsibilities:
- To manage and take charge of the day-to-day operations of the home in line with Ofsted. Manage and be responsible for all aspects of the home, ensuring the team provides innovative, responsive, high quality and person cantered services to children, young people and their families based on an assessment of need that is regularly and professionally reviewed and is outcomes driven
- Lead and be accountable for the achievement of positive outcomes for children and young people and drive continuous improvement by using performance data and evidence-based outcome measures
- To respond to the requirements and expectations of Registering and Placing Authorities.
- To provide visible and clear leadership to staff with guidance and observation of practice ensuring performance related issues such as sickness, misconduct or poor performance are challenged in line with Upwards Residential policies.
- Ensure the home is always adequately staffed and staffing levels are proactively controlled in line with staffing costs.
- To build and encourage a positive working environment and a culture of honesty, trust and respect with both staff and the young people within the home.
- Developing and maintaining effective working relationships with stakeholders, both internally and externally.
- Managing the delegated budgets
- Requirements:
- Level 5 NVQ in Leadership and Management or equivalent or be prepared to work toward this.
- Outstanding leadership qualities derived from excellent personal skills.
- Excellent knowledge and understanding of OFSTED requirements and safeguarding practices.
- Previous experience managing residential Children's homes as Registered Manager
- A positive approachable manner.
- To be ambitious for children, young people and families.
- Be able to meet the requirements for registration with Ofsted.
- Successful applicants are required to undergo an enhanced DBS disclosure, provide satisfactory references and be able to demonstrate successful management history.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: £42,500.00-£55,000.00 per year
