Fire Risk Consultant
Location: Home Based – Covering Wales, Midlands, South East & South West

About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Fire Risk Consultant to join a growing fire consultancy team.
This is a home-based role covering Wales, the Midlands, South East and South West, carrying out Fire Risk Assessments across a wide range of commercial and high-risk environments.
You will work closely with clients to identify fire risks, provide practical recommendations and produce high-quality fire safety reports in line with current legislation and recognised industry standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out Legislative and Non-Legislative Fire Risk Assessments.
- Conduct FRAs across a variety of sectors and building types.
- Assess high-risk premises, including residential, healthcare, education, commercial, industrial and sleeping-risk environments.
- Produce accurate and professional fire safety reports.
- Provide recommendations to clients to improve fire safety and compliance.
- Produce fire safety documentation, including Regulation 38 / Fire Strategy reports where appropriate.
- Manage your own diary and workload effectively.
- Act as a key point of contact for clients throughout consultancy projects.
- Ensure assessments and reports meet relevant legislation, standards and guidance.
- Work alongside senior consultants and validators to ensure technical quality.
- Complete projects on time and to a high standard.
- Maintain accurate records and comply with company procedures and third-party certification requirements.
About You
We are looking for someone with strong practical experience in Fire Risk Assessments, ideally with exposure to complex and high-risk buildings.
You will have:
- Proven experience conducting Fire Risk Assessments across a range of premises.
- Experience with high-risk buildings and complex fire safety environments.
- A Level 4 Diploma or equivalent fire safety qualification.
- Strong knowledge of UK fire safety legislation, standards and guidance.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- The ability to produce clear, technically accurate reports.
- Strong client-facing and customer engagement skills.
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage your own diary.
- A professional and reliable approach to client interactions.
- The ability to work independently while also contributing to a wider consultancy team.
- A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel throughout the assigned regions.
BAFE SP205, NEBOSH Fire Safety, MIFireE or similar professional qualifications/accreditations would be highly desirable.
