Job Summary
We are seeking enthusiastic and dedicated Summer Holiday Club Support staff to join our team. This role involves delivering engaging sports and physical activities to children during holiday periods and during term time, fostering a fun and inclusive environment. The successful candidate will play a vital part in promoting active lifestyles, developing sporting skills, and ensuring children have an enjoyable experience during their holidays. This position offers valuable experience in sports coaching and teaching within a supportive organisation committed to professional development.
Duties
- Plan, organise, and deliver a variety of sports and physical activities suitable for children of different ages and abilities
- Support the organisation of holiday clubs, ensuring activities are inclusive, safe, and engaging
- Encourage participation, teamwork, and sportsmanship among children
- Supervise children during activities, ensuring their safety at all times
- Assist in setting up equipment and preparing activity spaces prior to sessions
- Foster a positive environment that promotes confidence, enjoyment, and skill development
- Communicate effectively with children, parents, and colleagues to ensure smooth operation of the programme
- Maintain high standards of behaviour management and safety compliance throughout all activities
Skills
- Proven experience or interest in sports coaching or teaching young people
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to plan engaging activities
- Excellent communication skills to motivate and support children effectively
- Ability to work as part of a team in a dynamic environment
- Enthusiasm for promoting physical activity and healthy lifestyles
- Flexibility to adapt activities based on children's needs and interests
