We're looking for a passionate, motivated, and resilient Supported Housing Worker to join our East Lancashire Dispersed Housing Service.
About the role
This is an exciting opportunity to support young people aged 16-25, including Care Leavers and Asylum Seekers, as they build confidence and develop life skills.
This role combines housing management responsibilities with person-centred support work. You'll work directly with young people who may have experienced trauma, family breakdown, homelessness, instability or other complex challenges, helping them develop the skills, confidence and resilience needed to live independently.
Our OFSTED-regulated service provides safe and supportive accommodation across Lancashire. Working alongside colleagues and partner agencies, you'll empower young people to maintain their tenancies, access education, training and employment opportunities, and develop the skills needed to live independently.
What you’ll be doing

Building trusted, professional relationships with young people.

Supporting young people to develop independence, resilience and life skills.

Managing supported accommodation and helping customers sustain their tenancies.

Advocating for young people and coordinating support with partner agencies.

Supporting individuals to overcome barriers and navigate complex life circumstances.

Promoting independence, wellbeing, and positive outcomes.
About You
You don’t need to meet every requirement—what matters most is your values and commitment to supporting young people towards independence.
We're looking for someone who enjoys working directly with people and believes in every young person's ability to achieve positive change. You may already have experience in housing, homelessness, support work, youth services, education, social care or another customer-facing support environment.

Can build trust and maintain professional boundaries.

Have experience supporting individuals who may have experienced trauma, adversity, or instability, and can remain calm and effective when responding to periods of heightened distress or conflict.

Have strong partnership-working and advocacy skills.

Can demonstrate resilience, perseverance, and a solution-focused approach.

Hold, or is willing to work towards, an NVQ Level 3 in Children and Young People.

Hold a full UK driving licence and has access to a vehicle.
Successful Supported Housing Workers are skilled at building relationships, maintaining professional boundaries and helping people navigate difficult circumstances. They are resilient, empathetic and able to support young people to achieve positive outcomes whilst also managing the practical responsibilities that come with independent living and tenancy sustainment.
