The Opportunity
Rubix UK is looking for an experienced Insite Manager to lead our operations across two customer locations.
You will take end-to-end ownership of service delivery, safety, inventory, commercial performance and customer relationships across both sites. This is a highly visible role requiring you to balance competing priorities, maintain strong operational control and ensure that both customer teams receive a consistent, dependable service.
Working through a planned, risk-based presence model, you will ensure that neither site becomes dependent on where you are physically based. You will create resilient local routines, maintain clear performance visibility and lead continuous improvement across the combined operation.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead safe, compliant operations across both sites, ensuring risk assessments, safe systems of work, inspections and corrective actions remain effective.
- Own day-to-day contract delivery, service levels and operational governance, maintaining clear site-specific and consolidated performance views.
- Build trusted relationships with customer stakeholders across engineering, procurement, finance, operations and senior site leadership.
- Maintain daily control of workload, orderbooks, critical requirements, stock risks, customer actions and service priorities at both locations.
- Lead, coach and develop colleagues where applicable, establishing effective handovers, cross-training, local ownership and resilient cover.
- Manage inventory, purchasing and supply performance, including stock accuracy, perpetual inventory, critical spares, supplier continuity and variance control.
- Take ownership of sales, gross profit, margin, cost-to-serve, working capital, forecasting and recovery plans across both sites.
- Produce accurate KPI, safety, financial, inventory and risk reporting, ensuring combined results never conceal underperformance at either site.
- Deliver measurable improvements through stock optimisation, supplier consolidation, standardisation, digital adoption and waste or lead-time reduction.
Skills and Qualifications
- Strong leadership experience within an Insite, MRO, engineering stores, warehouse, supply-chain, industrial distribution or comparable customer-facing operation.
- Experience managing multiple sites, locations, cost centres or operational workstreams is strongly preferred.
- Commercial awareness covering sales, gross profit, margin, cost control, forecasting, working capital and financial approval processes.
- Practical knowledge of purchasing, suppliers, orderbook management, stock control, perpetual inventory and ERP or stores-management systems.
- Experience managing KPIs, operational risk, service recovery, action plans and structured customer performance reviews.
- Confident people leader who can set standards, coach performance and influence colleagues, customers, suppliers and internal stakeholders across locations.
- Sound HSEQ capability, including experience with risk assessments, safe systems of work, competence controls and corrective actions.
- Strong written, numerical, digital and analytical skills, with the ability to turn operational and financial information into clear recommendations.
- Able and willing to travel regularly between the two assigned customer sites; any driving-licence requirement will be confirmed for the specific locations.
What Success Looks Like
- Both sites receive visible leadership, consistent service and effective cover.
- Safety, customer service, inventory and commercial controls are maintained separately at each location.
- Customer stakeholders understand your presence plan, priorities and escalation routes.
- Risks and performance issues are identified early, with clear ownership and credible recovery actions.
- Improvements generate evidenced operational or financial value for the customer and Rubix UK.
