Since adding 'The Oak Room Restaurant' to our facility in 2003, we have successfully raised the bar for golf club catering. We are now looking for an enthusiastic CDP to stregnthen our team. Experience is preferable, but enthusiasm is more important. Our chefs aim to make 'The Oak Room' the finest Golf Club Eatery in the South West.
Our chefs serve a hot lunch buffet Mon-Fri, and a traditional roast carvery on Sunday. We cater for a variety of weddings and evening functions throughout the year. Working hours are flexible according to the needs of the business, but we are mindful to offer a healthy work/life balance: no more than 40-hrs pw, no split shifts, and free use of the golf course!
This is a permanent, full time position, starting salary £29k pa
What You'll Do
Kitchen preparation: Make sure each station clean and well stocked.
Menu preparation: Collaborate with colleagues to prepare menus, considering ingredients, flavours and presentation.
Recipe execution: Follow recipes, maintaining consistency and quality, including marinating, cutting and pre-cooking.
Hygiene standards: Make sure each station is clean and sanitized at end of service. Store and label unused food according to strict health and hygiene standards.
Teamwork: Maintain a climate of smooth and friendly cooperation within the kitchen.
What You'll Offer
Experience: Proven experience in a Chef de Partie role.
Culinary Skills: Excellent use of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and processes.
Multitasking: Ability to work efficiently under pressure.
Best Practices: Knowledge of best cooking practices.
Education: Level 2 or above, diploma in professional cookery.
