Job Overview
To provide a high-quality service across the club-owned facilities, ensuring that the stadium, training grounds, offices, hospitality areas and associated buildings are maintained to the highest standards whilst ensuring a safe, professional and welcoming environment for players, staff, supporters, visitors and commercial partners.
The successful candidate will work alongside the maintenance team to carry out a range of preventative and reactive joinery tasks such as fire door maintenance, building favric maintenance, emergency repairs and projects.
You will be expected to assist the maintenance team with other ad hoc maintenance tasks as required and provide assistance with match-day preparations.
Responsibilities
- To carry out planned and reactive joinery maintenance across all Club premises.
- Install, repair and maintain doors, frames, locks, windows, skirting, flooring, ceilings and timber structures.
- Undertake first and second fix carpentry work during refurbishment and improvement projects.
- Repaid and maintain stadium seating, hospitality suites, executive boxes, offices, dressing rooms and public areas.
- Construct and install bespoke timber fixtures, shelving, storage units and furniture as required.
- Liaise professionally with contractors and suppliers working on Club premises.
- Identify maintenance issues and recommend improvements to facilities and infrastructure.
- Ensure all works are completed to a high standard with minimal disruption to football and business operations.
- Maintain accurate records of completed work, materials used and maintenance schedules.
* Participate in an on-call rota or provide out-of-hours support where required.
Health & Safety
- Work in accordance with all Health & Safety legislation and Club policies.
- Complete risk assessments and work safely using appropriate PPE.
- Ensure all tools and equipment are maintained in safe working conditions.
- Report hazards, defects and incidents promptly.
- Maintain safe working practices in occupied areas during matchdays and events.
- Support compliance with fire safety, safeguarding and security procedures.

Essential Qualifications, Skills and Experience
- CITB Level 2 in Joinery & Carpentry or equivalent recognised qualification.
- Proven experience in commercial, industrial or facilities maintenance joinery.
- Ability to undertake a wide variety of first and second fix carpentry tasks.
- Excellent fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisplinary maintenance team.
- Good organisational and time management skills.
- Flexible approach to work hours, including evenings, weekends and matchdays.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Good communication skills with colleagues, contractors and stakeholders.
- Minimum of 5 years' time served experience.
Desirable qualifications, skills, and experience
- Experience working within a stadium, sports venue, educational campus or large commercial estate.
- Knowledge of building maintenance systems.
- IPAF, PASMA or other relevant access qualifications.
- Fire door inspection or installation experience.
- Basic knowledge of other building trades.
- IOSH Working Safely or similar Health & Safety qualification.
- CSCS card.
- Minimum of 5 years' time served experience.
Pay/Remuneration
£35,100 per annum

Location
You will be based at the Preston North End Football Stadium, Sir Tom Finney Way, Deepdale, Preston, PR1 6RU, however, you must be willing to work at any of the Club's premises which includes the First Team Training Ground, Chorley, Springfields Training Ground, Lea, Preston, and an address in Fulwood, Preston. This forms part of your role and is in the interests of your personal development and part of your duties with the Club.
Working Hours
Your hours of work will be from 8am to 4pm Monday to Friday. Half an hour has been deducted for a lunch break. The minimum working hours per week will be 37.5 hours, plus all home matchday events. You will form part of the on-call team in the evenings and weekends on a rotational basis. On occasions your role may necessitate longer hours than your contracted number, this will be kept to a minimum, but the hours are dictated by the responsibilities of the role.
