Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and highly organised Legal Secretary/Receptionist to join our professional team. This vital role combines front-desk responsibilities with comprehensive legal administrative support, ensuring smooth daily operations within a busy legal environment. The ideal candidate will be proactive, detail-oriented, and possess excellent communication skills to create a welcoming atmosphere for clients and visitors while efficiently managing legal documentation and administrative tasks.
Duties
- Greet clients, visitors, and callers with a friendly and professional demeanor, providing exceptional customer service.
- Manage incoming calls, direct inquiries appropriately, and handle message taking with clarity and efficiency.
- Perform audio typing of legal documents, correspondence, and reports accurately and swiftly.
- Prepare, format, and edit legal documents using Microsoft Word, ensuring consistency and adherence to formatting standards.
- Organise and maintain legal files, case records, and correspondence in an orderly manner for easy retrieval.
- Schedule appointments, meetings, and court dates while coordinating with relevant parties.
- Assist with general administrative duties such as photocopying, filing and data-entry.
- Support the legal team with IT-related tasks when necessary to ensure seamless workflow.
Requirements
- Experience as a Legal Secretary or Administrative Assistant within a legal setting is preferred but not essential.
- Audio typing skills with accuracy and speed is preferred.
- Excellent communication skills—both verbal and written—to liaise effectively with clients, colleagues, and external agencies.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, and other IT tools relevant to office administration.
- Exceptional organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated time management skills to meet deadlines consistently without compromising quality.
- Previous experience in handling legal documentation or court procedures is a plus but not essential.
Start Date: mid- late September 2026
Pay: From £23,500.00 per year
