Amber is a brand-new Mediterranean restaurant from the Dean Banks Group, opening in the heart of St Andrews. Inspired by the warmth, flavours and hospitality of the Mediterranean, Amber will offer exceptional food, carefully curated wines, classic cocktails and genuine, relaxed service.
We're looking for an experienced and ambitious Assistant General Manager to join our opening leadership team and help shape the culture, standards and success of one of St Andrews' most exciting new restaurant openings.
About the Role
Working alongside the General Manager, you'll play a key role in the day-to-day running of the restaurant, leading by example on the floor while motivating and developing the team around you.
You'll be passionate about hospitality, confident in delivering exceptional guest experiences, and thrive in a fast-paced, quality-driven environment. This is a hands-on leadership role where no two days are the same.
We're Looking For Someone Who:
- Has previous management or supervisory experience in a quality restaurant or premium hospitality venue.
- Is confident leading busy services while maintaining exceptional standards.
- Has strong knowledge of food, wine and classic cocktails.
- Is an excellent communicator who can inspire and develop a team.
- Leads by example with professionalism, positivity and attention to detail.
- Is commercially aware and understands labour, stock control and driving sales.
- Has excellent organisational and problem-solving skills.
- Wants to build a long-term career within a growing hospitality group.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the General Manager in the daily operation of the restaurant.
- Lead and motivate the front of house team throughout service.
- Deliver exceptional guest experiences and resolve issues professionally.
- Assist with recruitment, training and ongoing team development.
- Monitor service standards and ensure consistency across every shift.
- Support stock control, ordering and cost management.
- Help achieve labour, sales and profitability targets.
- Work closely with the kitchen and bar teams to ensure seamless service.

Pay: £34,000.00-£46,000.00 per year
