JOB TITLE: Business Support Systems Officer

SALARY: £28,300.99 - £32,808.61
HOURS: 35 Hours per week - Monday to Friday, hybrid working available after successful completion of probation period

Job Purpose
As our organisation continues to grow, we're looking for someone who is passionate about systems, data and continuous improvement to join our Business Support team. This role will play an important part in developing and maintaining the digital processes, reporting and business systems that support our day-to-day operations. Working closely with colleagues across the organisation, you'll help turn data into meaningful information, improve the way we work and contribute to projects that make a real difference.
This role offers an excellent opportunity for someone with strong Excel and analytical skills who is looking to develop their expertise in Power BI, Power Query, Power Automate and Microsoft 365 technologies.
Key Responsibilities
1. Business Systems & Process Improvement
- Support the ongoing development of business systems.
- Review existing administrative processes and identify opportunities to improve efficiency.
- Assist with creating automated workflows using Microsoft Power Automate.
- Maintain system documentation and user guides.
- Support colleagues in using business systems effectively.
2. Data & Reporting
- Maintain high-quality organisational data across MIS, CRM and other business systems.
- Develop and maintain Excel reports using advanced formulas, Power Query and data modelling techniques.
- Produce routine and ad hoc management information reports.
- Support the development of organisational KPIs.
- Assist with the creation and maintenance of Power BI dashboards.
- Investigate data quality issues and recommend improvements.
- Ensure data is accurate, consistent and compliant with GDPR.
3. Digital Development
- Support the implementation of new digital solutions across the organisation.
- Test new systems and functionality before rollout.
- Help identify opportunities to automate manual administrative tasks.
- Work with managers to understand reporting requirements and develop appropriate solutions.
- Keep up to date with developments within Microsoft 365 and recommend improvements.

Person Specification
Essential
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills including; Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP, INDEX/MATCH, Dynamic Arrays, Power Query
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience producing reports from multiple data sources.
- High attention to detail.
- Excellent organisational skills.
- Ability to explain technical information to non-technical colleagues.
Desirable
- Experience using Power BI.
- Understanding of data visualisation principles.
- Experience of Microsoft Lists & SharePoint.
- Experience using CRM & MIS systems.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Power Automate.
- Experience working with KPIs and performance reporting.
