The Role
This programme is a collaborative opportunity between NHS Lanarkshire and Glasgow Caledonian University for the Return to Practice Nursing and Midwifery programme commencing September 2026. We welcome applications to both our employment model and self-funding models through the programme, however our employment model only supports acute adult nursing field for this intake.
Entry Requirements
Evidence of previous NMC registration on part one of the NMC register
Following successful interview, undertake and complete all required pre-employment checks
Commitment to fulfil the programme requirements
Undertake the academic and practice elements of the programme without interruption
The working pattern for this role will be fully rotational covering a 12 hour shift pattern

Please note this is a fixed term post until April 2027.
Where a post only has temporary funding and an existing member of NHS Lanarkshire staff wishes to apply, this will be treated as a secondment. The employee MUST already have written agreement from their line manager to be released on a secondment before applying for the post. Fixed Term for the duration of the programme, Full time for the first 7 weeks then commencement on placement 36 hours.

In this key role, you will:
You will receive academic and practice learning support for the duration of your programme to facilitate your return to the NMC register.
In the employment model (adult field) you will be renumerated at Band 2 for the duration of the programme.
In the employment model (adult acute), upon successful completion of the programme you will be offered employment in a substantive band 5 post in NHS Lanarkshire
